A Look at the 9th Day of the 36th Fajr National Film Festival

According to ICN, on the 9th and the last day of the 36th Fajr Natinal Film Festival, Saturday, February 10, only 2 titles were screened for the media whose press conferences were not as crowded as the rest of them last week.
First, “Dirty Affair” directed by Khosrow Masoumi was screened, and due to the length of the film, it press conference started with delay, and therefore, the next film also was careened later than scheduled.
In his press conference, Masoumi noted that unemployment is really a very harsh and bitter truth, and I would like Mr. Rohani to feel terrible after watching this film.
Regarding his other title “The Bear”, he said: “At first this film entered the festival with its screening license, but then Mr. Sajadpour made some problems for the film. They told me that this film is confined because it is an anti-war film, and I asked them whether we are ok with wars now. A war has nothing but destruction and death. I should say that ‘The Bear’ is in a dark zone right now, and the media has talked about all the confiscated films except for ‘The Bear’ so far.”
The second and the last film of this day was a documentary called “Women with Gunpowder Earrings” directed by Reza Farahmand, and since it was the last film of the festival it wasn’t received as well as the other films and the press conference was also not very crowded.
Morteza Sha’abani, the film’s producer, talked about this film, which is a documentary about ISIS, and said: “Film’s first performance will be in Iraq, and I hope we will be able to show this film in Iran as well.”
One of the interesting points of this conference was Gabarlou’s mistake in addressing the editions of Fajr Film Festival, which he said 26th edition, instead of 36th edition. Gabarlou had a lot of these mistakes during these conferences. He said that it would be his last mistake this year.
